GIA is proud to be named a national finalist for our Solar PV assessment in Belfast, conducted on behalf of Belfast City Council (BCC) and the Department for the Economy (DfE).
Our research covered over 5,000 properties in Belfast, assessing their suitability for solar PV installations. This initiative aligns with Belfast’s goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions. The utilisation of brownfield sites and existing building roof stock within urban centres emerges as a crucial strategy in reaching these aspirations.
Belfast, spanning 2.7 square kilometres, demands a significant 1,380GWh per year, as per 2022 statistics. Through the innovative use of 3D digital twins, in-house app development, and cutting-edge technology, our comprehensive approach aids decision-making and helps pave the way towards a more sustainable and energy-efficient future for Belfast.
The 2024 RTPI Awards take place on Tuesday 26 November at The Fountain Room, London WC1N 1DN.
