“When you think about the expression ‘surveyor’, you could be forgiven for thinking of building assessments, cold hard facts, a means to an end.
We approach surveying differently: we turn linear perfunctory processes into contextual holistic strategies. Not only do we find the right solution, we find the best solution.
This takes a certain type of person: someone not constrained by process and formula or any of the constructs that we create for ourselves personally or within our working environment. It takes a person that can think more laterally, that has insight, clarity and a fresh, unblinkered perspective. Our people have that skill: they see solutions where others see unsolvable problems.
This different level of consciousness is what sets us apart: every project is approached differently because every project is different, requiring a unique, nuanced and ideal strategy.
We are about people who challenge the status quo and think differently. This awareness has allowed us to redefine what our role is and the way we work with our clients.
So, surveying? It’s sometimes a science, it’s rational, but it’s also human. It’s about human wellbeing and thriving in an environment where everybody flourishes.”

GIA is registered with RICS to provide training, guidance and counselling to surveyors who are completing their APC programme. Our Chartered Surveyors have already supported colleagues through the APC and we are delighted to have been one of the instrumental partners in developing a new route specifically for Rights of Light surveyors, through the Land and Resources Pathway. To us, training is an investment in the individual that, in turn, is an investment in our business. As leaders in our areas of expertise, we carry out a substantial amount of training in-house but we encourage participation in external courses and actively promote CPD. We also offer CPD workshops and seminars to clients and business partners.
