Daylighting Science: Aligning Research and Practice

Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with leading experts, including GIAs Simone Pagani, along with other practitioners, and researchers in the field of daylighting science. Whether you’re attending in person or virtually, your insights and perspectives are invaluable as we endeavour to bridge the gap between theory and application in the pursuit of optimised daylighting solutions.

In association with the CIBSE Daylight Group, this event promises to delve into the core findings of an extensive online consultation conducted with Daylight Group members on “Daylighting Science — What do you believe are the key research gaps that practitioners would like to see addressed?“.  You can have your say here.

At the event, we will present the outcomes of this consultation, categorising the responses into distinct themes.  Selected respondents will be invited to expand upon their suggestions for research topics, fostering an enriching dialogue among participants. Key questions will be explored, such as: Which research proposals hold the greatest significance for practitioners? How do these proposals intersect with emerging research landscapes? Are existing funding avenues poised to support forthcoming daylighting research endeavours?

To illuminate the path towards addressing identified research gaps, this event will feature an exploration of significant milestones in daylighting research spanning the past four decades. Through this retrospective lens, we aim to uncover the intricate pathways through which research translates into actionable practice, often only evident in hindsight.

If you are a developer, architect or planner or someone with a keen interest in the future of daylighting, this free event is not to be missed.  Places are limited so sign up early to avoid disappointment here
