Today, the RICS announced the launch of the fully updated Rights of Lights (RoL) 3rd edition Professional Standard which can be found here.
With the contribution of GIA’s Jerome Webb, this latest edition has undergone a rigorous process, including extensive drafting and updates by an expert working group, expert peer review, and an open consultation. Collectively, we are confident that these efforts will substantially enhance the professional best practices in this crucial specialist area.
Rights of Light (RoL) is a pivotol specialist area of surveying practice with significant implications for both residential and commercial development.
Key features of the new third edition, effective from 1 June 2024, include updated case law examples, a revised legal Rights of Light protocol, comprehensive coverage of geospatial/measured surveys, insights into insurance and compensation, and guidance on the Rights of Light RICS membership route.
