With June wrapped up, we take a fun trip down memory lane and revisit the vibrant celebrations and meaningful moments we shared during Pride Month here at GIA. Celebrating Pride isn’t just a colourful party for us (but we had that in abundance); it’s a joyful acknowledgment of the diversity that makes our workplace sparkle and drives our collective success. First and foremost, creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected is our top priority. By celebrating Pride with enthusiasm, we reaffirm our commitment to inclusivity and genuinely appreciate how diverse teams bring a treasure trove of perspectives, creativity, and innovation, leading to better outcomes for our clients and higher engagement from our people.
Our Pride celebrations made it loud and clear: we stand against discrimination in all its forms. This was wonderfully demonstrated in our superb annual ‘Drag Bingo’ event, which saw over 40 people coming together in London for an evening filled with laughter, fun, and camaraderie. But Pride isn’t just about the glitz and glam—it’s about creating genuine connections and fostering understanding. By engaging in meaningful conversations, hosting educational events, and amplifying LGBTQ+ voices, we deepen our empathy and broaden our horizons. This not only creates a more cohesive and compassionate workplace culture but also equips us to better serve a diverse range of clients and communities.
Our Q&A sessions across our offices were a brilliant example of this. Held in a safe and open environment, these sessions encouraged team members to ask thoughtful questions, promoting understanding and inclusivity. The concept was as sweet as it was simple: grab a cupcake along with a question strip, and dive into discussions that enhanced our knowledge and ability to handle various situations.
Our commitment to Pride goes beyond the month of June. Whether it’s advocating for inclusive policies or simply being a supportive colleague, each of us plays a role. At the end of the day, celebrating Pride is about more than rainbow flags and parades. It’s about creating a workplace, an industry, and a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
