GIA announce new Wind Measurements Service

Tall skyscrapers are on the increase in all major cities across the UK. Part of the planning process for these developments is to go through wind microclimate assessments.

This can bring with it a drawn-out process of testing and rebuilding to asses how the building performs in the wind tunnel.

An alternative method is Computational Fluid Dynamics, or CFD, modelling, Developments in software and processing speeds are evolving and GIA’s VU.CITY are developing microclimate software which uses CFD to create a new layer within the model to provide accurate wind measurements. Look out for developments in 2019.
