We are delighted to announce that Ellis Smith has been shortlisted for Property Professional of the Year at the Insider’s Midlands Young Professionals Awards 2026, recognising his contribution to the property sector and his role in driving GIA’s growth across the Midlands.
Combining strategic leadership with specialist technical expertise, he plays a key role in building relationships, developing new opportunities and positioning GIA on major development and regeneration projects across the region.
Alongside his leadership responsibilities, Ellis remains closely involved in property consultancy, advising on rights of light, daylight and sunlight, wind microclimate and wider neighbourly matters. He works with developers, investors, architects, planners, local authorities and professional advisers, helping clients navigate complex planning and development challenges.
His impact is also reflected in the growth of GIA’s Birmingham team, which doubled in size from two to four during the qualifying period. This progress highlights Ellis’s commitment to strengthening GIA’s regional presence and supporting the continued development of its Midlands operations.
The Insider’s Midlands Young Professionals Awards celebrate emerging talent across the region, recognising individuals who are making a meaningful contribution to their industries and helping shape their future.
Everyone at GIA would like to congratulate Ellis on this well-deserved recognition and wish him the very best of luck at the awards.
