We are delighted to announce that Antonia Belcher OBE is joining GIA as a Non-Executive Director. Antonia’s appointment is a testament to our commitment to unlocking the potential for a better built environment through the delivery of technical surveying work with our clients across the property lifecycle. Additionally, we are dedicated to fostering a more inclusive and diverse sector for future generations.
In 2007, Antonia co-founded MHBC, a London-based building consultancy, with partners she had worked with since before her gender transition. With over 40 years of experience in the construction and property industries, Antonia has been recognised as one of the Financial Times’ Top 100 LGBT+ Executives. Alongside her impressive professional career, Antonia and her wife Andrea run a charity, The Antonia & Andrea Belcher Trans Fund.
With her extensive sector experience, particularly in Building Surveying, Antonia is a formidable force in the industry and a champion for equal opportunities. In her role as Non-Executive Director, Antonia will sit on the GIA board, providing independent judgement, unique perspective, and support on issues across corporate governance, strategy, risk management and succession planning, amongst other areas.
