The redevelopment of the Premier Inn which sits on the entrance of Bristol City Centre is a major change to the potential future city skyline. The proposed development is a mixed-use student accommodation and co-living scheme which, at up to 28 storeys in height, would make the building the tallest tower in Bristol.
Early on in the design process, our Measured Survey team captured a bespoke area around the site, creating a high-definition point cloud to create a 3D computer model of the development in context. This was important when numerous iterations are required to limit the potential impact on the closest neighbours and allow for the greatest access to daylight and sunlight in the proposed units.
The submitted scheme was a result of a coordinated design between GIA and the design team to provide the best option for this landmark location. The scheme was submitted in summer 2023.
